Be comfortable in whatever

We had sahur at the McDonald’s near our house this morning. Raziq had been asking for a McD meal since last week. And so it was, after 2 weeks of fasting and having exhausted my brains for ideas on what to have for sahur (early morning meal before subuh prayers), we were at the McD’s.

They had a special packaged menu for Ramadhan, and had extended the normal menu in the wee hours of the morning to 5am. So if anyone wishes to have their Big Breakfast or any breakfast size meal, wait till the clock strike 5am!

It was fun, bundling the 2 and my husband into the car at 4:45am to drive for burgers at McD’s. What is more fun is that, many other Muslim families with young children had the same idea as us. Or perhaps this is the norm and since we have not been eating out much in the month of Ramadhan, we were ignorant of this.

In any case, the other families were all dressed to eat out, with their young children in jeans, t-shirts or shirts and well combed hair. And my two? They were very comfortable in their PJs and tousled hair. Of course, they brushed their teeth!

After all, we were still served in the same standard as the others were…
