Eeeeessshhhh...

Its disheartening when the ones who should defend you are the ones who think less of you. And see no qualms in making their opinion known.

Its even more discomforting when they who should walk the talk and lead by example are the ones who openly defy the rules.

We were again at the MOE to get the standard formality so we can proceed with the annual free programs to our secondary school teens. This time, we also bring with us an additional favor to as - permission in writing for us to enhance the professional skills of our educators, free. No need for the MOE to utilise any money from their coffers...everything will be borne by the group that funds our youth program.

Yet again, we were given the run around...and strangely, or is it? by the management. By the people who blab in the press that service of our public service has improved, that go to any government agency and we will be assisted by anyone we bump into, regardless of which department or unit they belong to.

"Don't you know, here we are very departmentalised..." "This is actually not our department's...we are only in charge of 2 schools..."

But hello Madam Pengarah, you are the Pengarah of Bahagian Sukan, Seni AND Kokurikulum in the MOE...and what we're doing for the students and teachers fall under kokurikulum, so aren't they your babies per se??? Yeah, so you are in charge of the 2 Sports Schools in the country but that isn't all you and your department are in charge of. By the name of your department, all schools come under you as long as it involves kokurikulum activities...and please, for the past 5 years the letters sanctioning our programs have come from this department so why should there be any difference now?

Oh excuse me for my ignorance...you are new. NEW? To the department, maybe but certainly not to the Ministry. And new to this post is a very stupid and lame excuse for not wanting to do your job.

So just do it...
